Darryl Bayer's jazz and pop credentials are also impressive. He has performed as a studio and freelance musician in Boston, Houston, Seattle and San Francisco. Pop stars that have contracted Darryl for regional work in their horn sections include Destiny's Child, The O-Jays, Temptations, The Four Tops, and Michael Bolton. Darryl has played in hundreds of musicals including summer stock theatre on Cape Cod, Theatre Under the Stars and for Regency Cruise Lines. 

Houston Big Band leaders Ronnie Renfrow, Ed Gerlach, Ned Baptista and Buddy Brock have asked Darryl to play the lead, jazz and section trumpet parts over the past twenty years. Darryl has made contributions to a Grammy winning record with Little Joe e la Familia, along Voices for Life, he Gypsies, and a new age compact disk with New Orleans keyboardist David Roe entitled Dulcitronic Wonderland.
